What should excellent literacy instruction look, sound, and feel like at different grade levels? How can building leaders be empowered to effectively observe literacy instruction? Many school leaders are charged with evaluating literacy practices in live classrooms, yet sometimes lack the content background to do so confidently. Join this session as we redefine the observable characteristics of effective, standards-aligned literacy instruction. Participants will build their repertoires of “look-fors” by watching and discussing short video clips of excellent teaching and learning in action. And they’ll come away with sample observation protocols and tools to support learning acceleration in “the new normal.”
