Schools are data-driven organization which allows educators to make informed decisions about health and wellbeing practices for students and staff. Join our session to learn how schools can contribute to a valid School Health Surveillance data collection, which monitors health risks and experiences.

We will cover the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) data finding to provide a snapshot of the health of Nebraska youth and understand the impact of COVID as we help adolescents recover from the effects, mentally and physically. Gain knowledge about how your participation in the Nebraska School Health Profile survey collected from principal/lead health teachers highlight school health policies and practices at the building level. Profiles data is meant to be used by leaders and decision-makers, especially in schools, school districts, and state education agencies to understand the gaps in policies and practices that can impact student health and academic performance. Identifying gaps in school health policies/practices supporting local decisions and community partnerships. Hear from an Children's Hospital & Medical Center MD about how the Nebrska results are utilized and the importance of your participation in these surveys.
