Utilizing Risk Behavior Data to Inform Academic Supports for Secondary Students

Schools are data-driven as data allows educators to make informed decisions to support students and staff. Join our session to learn how schools can contribute to valid School Health Surveillance data, which monitors health risks and experiences among secondary students. The Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) provides an important post-COVID snapshot of the health of American youth as we understand the impact of COVID and help adolescents recover from the effects, both mentally and physically.
School Health Profiles are a set of the principal/lead health teacher survey's assessing school health policies and practices at the building level. Profiles data is meant to be used by leaders and decision-makers, especially in schools, school districts, and state education agencies to understand the gaps in policies and practices that can impact student health and academic performance. Identifying gaps in school health policies/practices supporting local decisions and community partnerships.
