Embracing a Culture of Problem Solving
Are you tired of feeling like problems are admired without solutions? Not seeing the improved student outcomes you hoped for? Is there a disconnect between the goals you’ve set and the outcomes you want to see? If you are ready to embrace a culture of problem solving, this session is for you. We will help participants understand why a culture of problem solving is important and how everyone can benefit from the district level all the way to individual student outcomes. We will share examples of intentional teaming structures, ways to utilize a problem-solving model effectively, and how to use data to inform your decision making within your MTSS framework.

Reimagining Continuous Improvement with a Focus on Educator Effectiveness
Every school commits an enormous amount of time and effort to engage in the continuous improvement process. A successful school leader is able to engage staff in a way that is meaningful and collaborative around the purpose of CIP and the role they play in impacting that purpose. Time is the most valuable resource and it is often difficult to commit time if barriers restrict opportunities to make necessary changes. School leaders must have the courage to identify and address the barriers through genuine engagement with all staff. Identifying barriers is the easy part; the hard part comes when systems are willing to go beyond the surface level and dig deeper into the data to define root cause. This will not happen without the expertise, the input, and the genuine engagement of all staff and stakeholders. Join this session to see how the NDE is collaborating to redefine CIP and the supports necessary to ensure all students have access to effective educators.

Supporting Educator Effectiveness through Development: Reimagining Educator Effectiveness with the S.E.E.D. process
Effective systems put educators in a position to thrive because there is a clear distinction between support and development.  Support is outlined by the structures in place to bolster one’s ability to be effective within a system, while development is defined by the individual’s themselves, and their ability to take ownership of their own growth and learning as professionals. Together, support and development are the key ingredients to building a culture of collective efficacy.
Join this session with the S.E.E.D. team to begin thinking about how you, as an administator, might think about your own support and development system. The S.E.E.D. system is designed to bring all layers of the educational community to help your system to gain clarity around the struggles, the purpose, and the processes within your system through the lens of educator effectiveness.

In the Presence of Greatness: Observing Excellent Literacy Instruction in the ELA Classroom
What should excellent literacy instruction look, sound, and feel like at different grade levels? How can building leaders be empowered to effectively observe literacy instruction? Many school leaders are charged with evaluating literacy practices in live classrooms, yet sometimes lack the content background to do so confidently. Join this session as we redefine the observable characteristics of effective, standards-aligned literacy instruction. Participants will build their repertoires of “look-fors” by watching and discussing short video clips of excellent teaching and learning in action. And they’ll come away with sample observation protocols and tools to support learning acceleration in “the new normal.”
